#10- Eric Reflection

There's always more to learn when it comes to technology, and I found the ERIC project presentations to be insightful and interesting. They helped me see more ways that I can incorporate technology into the curriculum to enhance a lesson. I really liked the presentation about the Horned Lizard project, where the children made their own website for their statistics on the reptiles seen by the participating farmers. This lesson really used technology well, not just for the point of using technology itself. It's cool that the students still update the site today.

The resources available on the internet are endless, and it's really neat to find out about new sources that we could use ourselves in our future classrooms. I found that Atlantis game that was presented to be an awesome idea-incorporating learning into the format of a computer game! Although its not perfect, it's a great way to get the students interested and engaged in the lesson (as long as they stay focused!).

These presentations were filled with great ideas and ways to use technology more easily in the classroom. I'm anxious to see the last one today!

The horned lizard project was part of my presentation and I found it fascinating that students updated their own website. I thought that it sounded like a great idea for a group project in a future classroom of mine. For me my topic was so helpful because it got me excited about using technology in the classroom. So often when I hear about technology in the classroom i think of the students sitting in front of a computer playing so software program. But, because of this presentation I was able to learn about different ideas that a teacher can use technology for that doesn't have to involve a software program.

I also thought that the Horned Lizard Project was very interesting and showed that many different way that technology can be used! I thought it was great that the children got to create their own website. This helps students learn how to work a computer and incorporated class information in a school setting. I agree that the resources available on the internet are never ending. You can find many great things on the internet such as activities, games, and lesson plans for the students. I think the internet is a great resource and all students should be taught how to work and run it properly. Overall, i did think that these presentations were informing and taught me a lot of different things about technology, as well as how to work the ERIC research data base!

I also found it interesting to hear about the Horned Lizard project. It is amazing to think what young children can do when given the opportunity and correct guidance. This project demonstrated how effective and successful this project was and offered a different way to collect and record data. The presentations emphasized how many websites are reliable and useful for early childhood teachers. I didn't quite realize the tools available to teachers on the Internet. Teachers could really benefit from looking around at these sites to gain ideas or even to incorporate an activity into their classroom.

The horned lizard project really sounds interesting! It sounds like a good way to incorporate technology into a classroom setting. I was amazed with the whole idea, I had never heard of any schools doing something like this before.
You are right, resources avaliable on the internet are endless! It really is so easy to find information about anything nowdays!
