My lesson using images would be one for pre-k through first grade students. I would hand out sheets of paper with the following pictures and text on them, with the student's job being to write out the name of the animal shown on the two lines following it. The name would also be written right below the picture.
I think this would be helpful, for those many visual learners, to get the concept of not only how to spell out and write a word, but get an idea of what the word means exactly by looking at the picture. I think it'd help keep their interest longer and make writing less abstract to young learners.

Meghan,
I think it will also help keep their interest because of the pictures you are using. They are so real and colorful. I definitley agree that this would help visual learners. Not only does it help them teach the spelling of these animals but they get to see a real life picture right infront of them. Great idea!

I really liked your idea for the lesson. When i saw it i was amazed. I dont thin ki would have thought of that one. One idea that i thought of is some children may not know how to write very well so maybe the first word on the line could be them tracing the word cat then writing it by themselves the next time. Just a idea. I really like your lesson its teacher material. Great job
I really liked the creative idea for your lesson plan. I also think that the pictures are great. Most children love animals, and the pictures that you chose will keep the children's interest, and encourage them to practice writing the words. Nice lesson plan.
Meghan,
This lesson is a great way for students to practice their vocab and spelling words. I really like the repetiveness of it. Students need that repetitiveness to help them remember things. The pictures are also a great way to give them a concrete idea of what the word is or means.
Meghan,
I thought your lesson plan would be very effective for younger children. It would help them learn different animals. It would also help them with their writing skills and vocabulary. This is a great way for students to have fun while their doing their spelling words or vocabulary words. I think you did an awesome job, and this would be a great lesson when you become a teacher!
